Questions & Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about EMS training, recovery, and longevity optimization at Valjalah in Miami Beach.
EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) training uses low-frequency electrical impulses to activate muscle fibers during a guided workout. At Valjalah, we use the Zeus Suit to deliver impulses to major muscle groups simultaneously while a certified trainer leads you through controlled movements. This approach is designed to help activate more muscle fibers than conventional training alone, in sessions lasting approximately 20 minutes.
EMS training has been used in rehabilitation and fitness settings for decades. At Valjalah, all sessions are supervised by certified trainers who control the intensity and guide your movements. We recommend consulting your physician before starting any new exercise program, especially if you have a pacemaker, are pregnant, or have a history of seizures.
Most clients train one to two times per week. Because EMS activates a large number of muscle fibers simultaneously, adequate recovery time between sessions is important. Your trainer will help determine the right frequency based on your goals and recovery capacity.
Your first visit includes a brief consultation to review your health history and goals. You'll be fitted with the Zeus Suit, and your trainer will start at low intensity levels, gradually increasing as you become comfortable. The session lasts about 20 minutes. Most people describe the sensation as unusual but not painful.
Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light (typically 630–850nm) that may support cellular energy production, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue recovery. At Valjalah, it is part of our structured recovery circuit and is used after EMS training sessions to support the recovery process.
Infrared saunas use radiant heat to warm the body directly at lower ambient temperatures than traditional saunas. This may support circulation, relaxation, and detoxification through perspiration. Sessions at Valjalah are typically 15–20 minutes as part of the recovery circuit.
Cold water immersion has been used in athletic recovery for many years. At Valjalah, cold plunge sessions are brief (typically 2–4 minutes) and supervised. We recommend consulting your physician before using cold plunge therapy if you have cardiovascular conditions, Raynaud's disease, or other circulatory concerns.
The Valjalah recovery circuit is a sequenced protocol that typically includes red light therapy, infrared sauna, and cold plunge. The circuit is designed to be completed after EMS training and takes approximately 30–40 minutes. Your trainer can help you determine which elements are appropriate for your situation.

Longevity optimization at Valjalah refers to our coordinated approach to long-term health. In addition to EMS training and recovery, we can connect clients with independent licensed providers who offer services such as peptide therapy, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and GLP-1 metabolic support. All medical services are provided by independent practitioners, not by Valjalah directly.
No. EMS training is adaptable to all fitness levels. Your trainer controls the intensity and can modify movements to accommodate your current ability. Many of our clients started with no prior EMS experience and limited recent exercise history.
